Tally Ho! For Aviation Art Show
Dangerous Skies (Title) - is a collection of exciting military aviation oil paintings and drawings by artist Jeremy Pryce. The Portrayals of these classic aircraft are being exhibited at The Place Oakengates Tuesday 22nd of Febraury to Saturday 26th of March
The exhibition comprises of scenes of aircraft hurtling through space. Of mortal combat set against the majesty of the sky. Both nostalgic and emotive the images are a tribute to man and machine as they are depicted in the life and death duals of a time gone by. The images fly out from the canvas challenging the viewer to acknowledge the shear deadly purpose of these monstrous masterpieces of mechanical art, these fantastic flying machines.
‘I hope to pass on my enthusiasm and passion for these fantastic aeroplanes. For as long as I can remember I have had sketch pads and even school books full of scribbles of diving bombers and whizzing fighters of flaming wrecks and triumphant Spitfires. I have driven myself to capture these aircraft in ever greater detail but also capture the awesome vistas they navigate through. I hope that in creating these paintings onlookers can get an insight into a time gone by when fighting for our freedom then - ensured the way we live our lives now.’ Jeremy Pryce – Artist
These paintings are no gentle flypast but an historical reality of time and place. Machine guns polished for lethal effect not for pretty embellishment. Nostalgic yes . . but also deadly - these planes are alive in their element as they brave - Dangerous Skies
