Elaine Nester

I have worked in Shrewsbury for 21 years in the field of marketing and communications. My own specialism is writing and I work with a team of graphic designers, illustrators, photographers, website designers and developers. Our world has changed dramatically since the early days when our designers worked with magic markers on drawing boards. Now of course, the work is carried out on computers. However, although the tools of our trade have changed, we like to feel that our creativity has remained intact. Every project begins with an idea and it is the successful execution of that idea that brings results for our clients. We have worked with a number of what I call true artists during the lifetime of our business, one being the world renowned sculptor, Anthony Robinson, who works in stainless steel. Our brochure for him had stainless steel covers and metallic paper pages in a limited edition of 50. I am privileged to own a copy, and also two examples of his work in my house and garden. We also worked with VAN in its very early days, producing a programme for the Festival for two years on a pro bono basis to help the organisation to gain recognition.
