Shrewsbury painter Rod Shaw and Oswestry silk screen printer Ray Pearson will be exhibiting their work at the Guild Hall, Much Wenlock from May 3rd to the 30th May the day the Olympic torch passes through the town. Rod worked as an Art Director in major London ad agencies and also as an illustrator with clients like Radio Times and British Rail. During the 60's both artists carried out commissioned work for BBC TV prior to moving back to Shropshire where Ray worked as a medical illustrator, which is evident in the clean precise quality of his work. MARKET HALL TRADERS PORTRAIT EXHIBITION
1st to 26th May 2012
VAN Shrewsbury Market Hall Gallery

Shrewsbury Market Hall has recently won the best Parish Council Market Award from the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA). Shrewsbury folk should be proud of their nationally recognised outstanding market.

Taking inspiration from the traders who work hard to serve the people of Shrewsbury, local artist Ian Collett has produced 30 individual portraits of the Market Traders. Faces that regular market goers will be familiar with. Some have only been in business a few months, others over forty years!

There is a vibrancy, good humour, friendliness and many good bargains to be had, that is the best of a traditional British Market.

Lunch Time Launch 13.00 to 15.00hrs Saturday 5th May.
Come and meet some of the Traders and the Artist!
