Ann Easthope
I am a spontaneous artist who must immediately commit my impressions to canvas. I paint with acrylics on box canvasses and often gain inspiration while walking my faithful old dog Sam in the countryside near my home in Wellington. Sometimes the work flows easily and at other times I have to work hard to create what I want to achieve. But whatever happens I gain joy and satisfaction from my art and like any artist I try to convey that to others. To that end I also try to keep my work affordable for everybody - to those who can afford to buy and to those who long to buy. But my biggest reward is the knowledge that somebody, somewhere is enjoying my work either in their home, office or elsewhere and that they have something unique.
For 19 years I was privileged to be part of the Severn Hospice’s day-unit team. I set up its Creative Therapy departments, firstly at Shrewsbury and a few years later at the new Telford unit. My life moved on two years ago when I returned to my greatest passion - painting. I found joy in creating modern-impressionist floral works which eventually evolved into a series based on the “dandelion clock” - the scourge of many gardeners, but for me an example of transient beauty and perfect construction. My work now hangs in homes and offices in Australia, Japan, Chicago and the Norwegian Arctic Circle! As a result of several requests I have now started offering limited-edition (50 only), signed prints of some of my work. These are mounted on card ready for framing of your choice.
